My guess is the sound would be fine from the TV. Remember the sound would remainin the digital realm until reaching the DAC. Using the analog out of a TV subjects you to the TV's DAC and analog output section which I'm sure is less than audiophile.

I personally would rather trust the digital output of the TV opposed to some switcher. Keep it simple to avoid jitter.
