No matter what I see her in! I LOVED The Dig and thought that both she and Ralph Fiennes gave wonderful performances. The Great Gatsby was a horrid film but she was the only bright spot in it. The remake of Far From The Maddening Crowd was far from great yet she was wonderful in a mediocre film. I am SO looking forward to her turn as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. That musical has a special place in my heart as it was the first live musical play that I attended as a young boy... I hope the redo will capture less of a "Hollywood" look and more of the grit of the working man's London of the time. Crucial though will be who they cast as Henry Higgins and Colonel Pickering. They are off to a good start though with Mulligan.....

I liked the film except for the ending. Acting was solid. My concern was who would plan their own murder? The entire ending is based on it happening.
I think I would. She had plan A and it was a dangerous situation where her plan could very well fail. Setting up plan B would make sense.
Sort of like having a second Will made up to be delivered if I go missing or die. Then the new Will ios enacted so the people who killed me for my money would be very disappointed.
The ending was hard to watch.

It's interesting that this film was so polarizing for people.Carey Mulligan starred in "The Dig" as well and it took me a while to put it together that she was the same actress.
The film I enjoyed because I generally like the revenge tale (which is why I like Dexter).
I understand why certain "men" don't like it because they like their women chained to the radiator and who should only speak when spoken to.
When I saw Carey Mulligan on the Craig Ferguson show I kept thinking she should star in an Audrey Hepburn biopic.
She also starred in one of the best episodes of Doctor Who called Blink. This episode is said to the the episode to show to someone who has never seen an episode of Doctor Who. Mulligan was excellent in it.

was elevated by her presence (and Oscar Isaac's!), as were, "Mudbound," and "Inside Llewyn Davis." This seems to be a golden age of good actresses.
