Eric Bana.
Bana plays a fed agent returning to his childhood village where a long-ago co-worker of his allegedly murdered his wife and young son before blowing his head off with the shotgun. The plot seems trite, but it avoids many of the clichéd details that plague lesser films: Bana is surprisingly laid back. The supporting cast elevates the film, showcasing the wealth of excellent character actors in Australia--- and the prevalence of beautiful actresses with the talent to match.
I paid for it and I'm glad I did; it's not on any app we have...
Follow Ups:
I never thought I would hear Bana say "Good Day" so many times, even at night! It was a lightweight story that once again warns me not to move over without MMA skill sets in place. Will have to say the I-know-how-it-ends crowd will have to wait.
Tragic, more like it. Now, the treatment may be lightweight, but I don't see that, either, because of the skill of the twists-and-turns and the acting chops of the erstwhile stock of almost-always convincing Aussie actors. Perhaps not enough "heavy" on-screen violence for you? Yeah, it's kind of lightweight in that department compared to your usual stuff.
Maybe it was Bana's character's that was so lightweight. I think it can be seen on Prime now.
