I found this film to be a fun romp for a modern-day horror film - not too bloody or too scary so for those who like their horror 'lite' this one was pretty good.
A robotics expert makes a toy robot that imprints on the child and becomes too overprotective. AI runs amok in a kind of modern-day Chucky movie.
93% fresh rating on Rottentomatoes is a bit surprising but it's a pretty easy watch.
If you're looking for a horror film to show kids in the 10-13 range this one should not be too bad.
Follow Ups:
Not funny, not original, not plausible , completely predictable and not entertaining to watch. I saw it in a (nearly empty) theatre so it was also a waste of ticket money, gas money and my time. Note that RT's 93% came from so-called professional reviewers. Audience gave it 78% which is closer to the mark but still higher than I'd rate it.
It was a big hit, sequel on the way.
Well made SF horror thriller, entertaining and clever.
