I don't doubt you, but where is that happening? They haven't done jack shit in my area for a very long time and I live quite near where their Corporate HQ is. Also, since there are no poles anymore in many neighborhoods, maybe the fiber expansion is how they'll do it. AirGig everyplace they have poles and fiber where they can't?

I work for the company here in South Florida, I haven't heard anything about this airgig. They have placed fiber on poles in neighborhoods that has poles, and now placing it in the buried ones. The goal is to have it all done by 2020. They probably started with the most lucrative areas first, they will get to yours eventually.
Take a look at the article link. I did some follow-up surfing on the topic yesterday and found this recent story. It seems only a small step to having these things broadcast TV/Internet/Phone to antenna on your house. No more copper, no more glass, no more satellites.
No poles= underground capabilities.
It kinda makes sense. They are four to five years away from AirGig assuming the tech pans out. Plenty of time to yank out old troublesome copper and replace it with glass in areas where they have no poles for AirGig. I have not seen anymore stories about AirGig since the one at that link. May have to surf around and see if anything new out there about it.
