Upconvert cable ?for 4k tv not being used

I'm curious will a onkyo 818 make it look better ?
It's just sitting in the box until I find a way to make cable look good on it .
It's a non hdr tv 📺
Or should I just stick to an normal 1080 tv??

I don't think you can buy an HDTV. They're all 4K.

I run the cable box into the TV and it looks fine, quite good actually. I'd suspect that the TV upsample to 4K.
