16:9 "full" vs. 16:9 standard, what's the difference?.

'09 LG BD player, no manual. Saw this menu option. Anyone know what
it is. My screen is a pull down, not 16:9 as yet, more 4:3 ish.

My memory, if I recall correctly, is that "full" enlarges a 4:3 program or movie to fill up a 16:9 screen horizontally. This results in part of the picture being cut off at the top and bottom. "Standard" likely provides a picture in its original and intended aspect ratio on a 16:9 screen. Just try both settings and see what happens.
