and (unexpectedly) cinematography.
The story is about the private and professional trials and tribulations of a suburban "American" couple who happen to be Russian spies. Season-after-season, you think the ideas will get stale--- but somehow the inventiveness remains a constant through to the extraordinary ending.
Be warned: there's a good bit of graphic violence, though none of it gratuitous.
It's on Amazon Prime and I'd gladly pay several months of the fees just to watch this one show.

Great series. And if you watch the whole thing, you will learn how well spies can pack a suitcase:)

Great ending as well which isn't always the case in other great series, posted on July 8, 2020 at 21:16:22

As I was researching Top 100 lists of series posted by randos on the internets to watch while in hibernation I noticed The Americans was listed in the top 10 or, at worst, top 20 of just about every list. Any list not including them in exalted status was disregarded as a source. Found a few I haven't seen that regularly were touted that I'll give a try. Fingers crossed. Between them and yours and Willy Bonka's movie recs I've got a few more weeks of watching before going mad.

What great support Matthew and Keri received from the rest of the cast, Margo Martindale, Frank Langella, Noah Emmerich (huge role and other than being Truman's friend, I couldn't remember him in anther role), Julia Garner(!), Nina actress, Richard Thomas (who'd a thunk it?), Costa Ronin (Oleg), little Paige, Arkady, etc.. Felt like we knew em all.

Absolutely, RW. Granted I've not seen a lot of series, this one is at the top, posted on July 9, 2020 at 06:32:31

of my list w/2nd place pretty far down from it. Indeed, the acting throughout the cast was top-tier.
Unlike a lot of series, this one maintained form throughout the last seasons. Also unlike any other series I've seen, this series broached important subjects such as patriotism, loyalty to friends and family--- and a thorough examination of the concept, "the ends justifies the means."

I'm a huge Keri Russell fan but I can't take this, posted on July 7, 2020 at 17:38:59

It is just too dark for me. WAY TOO DARK. She's like Tony Soprano - a cold-blooded killer, a psychopath.

They will not allow it to play until I review (and consent to?) their privacy policy. Bastards.

EDIT: Just fixed it by trashing the Google and YouTube cookies. ;-)
