We are completing our TV series stretch, before going back to Criterion.

Bloodlands is the last stop, and after first two episodes it definitely looks promising - unfortunately, there are only 8 episodes in two seasons.

VERY well done British show. You have to pay $5.99 for Acorn channel to see it, but I think it is worth it.

Yes, I enjoyed Bloodlands. James Nesbitt is a good actor. A subscription to Britbox has keep me entertained throughout the summer with plenty of good crime dramas.

With British series it is a hit and miss situation, some of them are just plain slow, lacking energy.

found them both very enjoyable and with a decent pace delivering substantial details and complexities with fine acting.

Our agreement on hit or miss may not align, but I've kept a list of what I've watched. Unfortunately, I'm on a lake vacation for a few days, and my list and TV are far behind. I'll post a few recommendations when I return.

I think both are available on Prime.

which isn't available in my region (US) so if you watch the Russel Crowe 2009 version I'll be waiting to hear what you thought.

Same with Edge of Darkness I referred to the 1985 version, posted on August 14, 2021 at 21:18:02

You got me to check...yes there will be a 2nd season, supposed to be in 2022.

This is executive produced by the guy who made Line of Duty (6 seasons I think) and Bodyguard. Like Bloodlands, those have lots of unexpected plot twists that either keep things interesting or verge on self parody, I guess depending on the viewer's tolerance. If you like Bloodlands, check out those others.

Line of Duty is superb, the Bodyguard was OK, too formulaic, I thought, reminded me of the one with Mimi Rogers.

he's Jed Mercurio and while sometimes I roll my eyes, I like his style. I was more than a little disappointed with the past season of Line of Duty, however, I think it may have run its course.

Sorry for the delay...I see that Britbox is running a promotion now for 99 cents a month for the first two months. For that price you should find something you like.

The Victim
Little Boy Blue
Bancroft
Trauma
Grace
Prime Suspect
Bay
A Confession

You might find something among those. Or you may hate them all...

Good luck
Tom

Might start tonight. Some names I recognize.

We are making slow progress along New Tricks. It is entertaining in spots, but its humor is growing tedious.

There's a couple of the things that I've seen on Amazon Prime recently which I would recommend--Howard's End (the 4 part series, not the 1992 movie) and The Tunnel (a British/French take on the Danish series Bron/Bridge).

Hope all is well.
