Best TV I have ever owned. Great performer and rock solid. Beginning to wonder how long it is going to last and what to buy in its' place.

I'm still using my 13 year old Panasonic Plasma. It still looks great. I will use it until it dies.

I've not gotten the money for an oled yet .
A oled definitely could be an improvement depending on what you watch.
If you have static images they can burn in I hear .
My plasma looks far better then my led for movies .
How many years it will last I got no idea, it's not my primary tv.

OH. MY. GOD.

The difference is staggering. As good as the plasma is (I use mine in my bedroom now) the Sony blows it away.

PS: Avoid LG OLED unless you light weird colors and burn-in.

The SONY uses LG tech, doesn't it? nt, posted on June 11, 2020 at 10:18:31

LG is the only maker of OLED TV panels. It's the processor that makes the difference.

LGs seem to have a greenish tint, not sure why. keep in mind that LG Displays makes ALL OLED tv panels right now. The big difference is in the processors. All OLEDS are vulnerable to burn in and uniformity issues. There is a huge set to set variability with this, not sure why.
Yes, WAY better than plasma.

My LG B9 is fine, and better than my Panasonic Plasma. Both, posted on March 23, 2020 at 09:17:46

around the same price.
And the LG has Dolby Vision and HDR for 4K, on Amazon Prime and Netflix Premium.
Looks AMAZING.
Some shots in Mrs Maizel were virtually 3D.

It will last you a good bit longer. Still using my Kuro and it's doing just fine. Had it calibrated a year ago, and although it's lost a tiny bit of brightness over the last ten years, the tech said he saw no reason to start looking for a replacement.

If I were in the market, I'd be all over the LG OLED's.

Unbelievable picture and a notch or two below top of the line Panny plasma. Probably going to replace living room Sony LED with an LG 55" OLED. Not sure what to do here in the media room with the Panny tho. 65" OLEDs are spendy
