It started just randomly shutting off and rebooting a week ago. Looked online and others experiencing this were told to do a factory reset. A rain in the butt.....however, I did it. Now, it reboots whenever I turn it on. Getting pretty frustrated.

Any thoughts?

Their "smart" products are a hit mess. I've had two Blu Ray Players (the newest is 4k) that were bought as they're universal players (SACD & DVD-A). The pervious payer rebooted every time I turned it on, had to re-enter 17 digit Wi FI passwords, re log in to Ntflx, Prime, YouTube, etc..
hard resets, new software downloads, tinkering with options in setup were no good and online Sony help was ridiculous (MANY users were reporting the same problem). Of course all this started after factory warranty ran out. Fortunately I had bought an extended warranty for a few bucks and they actually refunded my purchase price.

Not having learned my lesson, I bought the newest shiniest Sony 4k player. Same exact issues after factory warranty expired. Again, my $7, 3 year (lol) extended warranty, put to use. Sent it in, twice, for repairs. The second time they said F it, and sent me a new player. SO far, 10 months in, it works like a charm. Sony has big issues with their Smart tech and obviously know it. Their help boards constantly receive tales of terror

Worked for a few days, now it reboots rvrty time your turn the TV on. Played with it a long time Saturday and finally said.."F it". Did a bit of online research, drove to Best Buy, and bought a 55" Samsung Q90. I've always thought the picture on the Samsungs were better, and almost nought one last time around.

If it starts rebooting, I have my 9mm Smith and Wesson locked and loaded.
