I haven't seen "Providence" but I did catch the last half of "I Want to Go Home" with Gerard Depardeas (sp?) one night on cable... I wish I knew more or Resnais' work, my exposure to European films made during the late 80's to present is sadly lacking. Where the heck do you find these films? There used to be a small video store in my area that carried a terrific selection of foreign films on vhs but they closed shop once DVD became a mainstream commodity.

BTW, a couple of weeks ago I took the plunge and bought a DVD recorder to transfer the 150 or so obscure titles I have on vhs since I don't expect to see them anytime soon on DVD.... a very worthwhile investment considering the now-reasonable cost of recording media and the slight increase in quality you get when copying to DVD. Just don't plan to view them on a front projector system, I limit my viewing to the 32" direct view in our home office.
