"La Fille sur le pont" - for the allegory lovers

"Girl on the Bridge" Daniel Auteuil sparkles in this strange film, and his partner Vanessa Paradis (I don't recall seeing her before) is quite convincing too.

It is not your average movie, it is almost a fairy tale, but powerful in its naivite. It pulled me in and kept interested - not a small feat. The director Patrice Leconte, the creator of The Widow of Saint-Pierre, is worth noting, with style gentle but memorable. The sensual atmosphere in the film is so sick in spots you can cut it with a knife... knife? Did I say "knife"? There are quite a few in that film.

Definitely worth seeing.
