I amlooking for a movie that takes place around Christmas movie. It may be black and white. It's about a poor family that had many children. The parents or at least the mother dies (don't remember what happened to the father) and the children must be parcelled out to whoever would take them. There is a kind of snobbish family that wants one of the chidren but not the others, and I think the mother made the oldest child responsible for keeping the children together no matter what. It's kind of a tear jerker, but a very good old movie. Please help.
