Learn your history. US didn't have the atomic bombs till 1945. First atomic bomb test explosion was in July of that year. A few days later two bombs were dropped on Japan. Who waited for 3.5 years?
110,000 people, most of them children and women, died in those two explosions, tens of thousands of others died as a result of radiation. Would you have pressed that button, pissed off American? Our soldiers'lives were saved, but I think that the bombs would have had a similar effect on the Japanese had they been detonated in a more remote area of mainland Japan?
Let's kill them Indians too, because of the trecherous Huron Magua in the feature film "The Last of the Mohicans". Oops, that was done already.
