Saw the new movie on Friday night. It was entertaining and moved very quickly. In some smaller roles Carl Reiner, Andy Garcia and E. Gould were all quite good. Movie did seem a bit too "tame", almost no bad language at all which would seem somewhat strange for ex-cons and criminal types. All-in-all worth seeing, on my personal scale of 100 being the best movie I would rate it a 78. Don't remember the original so I am not able to compare them. There were some interesting twists and turns and some great tricks to pull the heist.
One thing that always bothers me about these big "cash heist" movies is they are supposed to be stealing $160 million in cash and they have about 7 guys carrying this out in large bags. ONE million in cash in hundred dollar bills would fit into a normal sized suitcase (not an attache case) and weighs approx. 35 pounds. $160 million would weigh 5,600 lbs. and would not be able to be carried out by 7 guys slung over their shoulders (that's about 800 lbs. each !!). You would think that someone would pay more attention to stuff like this.
