Timing error in Memento??

I watched this one the other night and was struck by what I thought was an anachronism, see what you think?
Part way through the film the main actor received a picture of him self (sanding alone without a shirt on), but later in the file, but earlier in time (at the end of the film) he burns the picture...So, if he received it later in the timeline, How could he have burned it before it actually received it?
Anyone else see it or see something I missed??
