Altered States, The Lair of the White Worm, Mahler, The Music Lovers (based on the life of Tchaikovsky), Salomes last Dance (Oscar Wilde)
The last 2 starring Glenda Jackson who was a great British actress at that time
Excellent acting and some stunning individual scenes do not always salvage the films; but they are all worth a look; he never gets maudlin or boring
Ken Russells work is approached from a very British perspective which gives him less universal appeal, than say, Kubrick
