Although edited in a fast and furious chop chop manner this is a wonderful tale, based on true events in 1988, of a high school foorbal team trying to take the state trophy after the loss of its star player due to a knee injury. Billy Bob Thornton (what range!) plays the coach in a Texas town where, like most of Texas, high school football is a religion. The coach is peppered 24/7 by fans and team followers, all of whom have suggestions or criticisms. Naturally since it's a sports movie there's a big game at the end.
