saw it first in a theater and liked it.(I now have DVD ) I have been to China several times and have grown a big interest in Chinese culture and people. I have always loved the Tschaikovsky Violin Concerto which is featured in the film. But to me the basis of this film is the development of the young violinist to understand where the real inspiration of his playing comes from. There of course is some socialistic undertones to the story but there are also some general values that may be explored .
