Famed cinematographer James Wong Howe shot almost all of this using extreme wide angle lenses and many hand held shots. It is a scary tale of a man who signs up with a company to bury his past and with plastic surgery and calesthenics completely change his identity. Al older actor plays the man and gets changed intio Rock Hudson. This is Hudson's finest work. The scene where he visits his wife (who seems to be fairing quite well without him) has always been unnerving to me. Will Geer is wonderful as the CEO of the company. The laserdisc and DVD restore the original editing of the nude grape stomping scene. I have loved this film for 30 years.
