I saw it at the local "arthouse" theater--Angelika Film Center in Plano several months ago.

I like "period" pieces--hence the initial attraction.

I found the movie a little slow going during the first half.

However, I found the last portion of the movie (I'm guessing the last 20 or perhaps 30 minutes) absolutely riveting! It really picked up and was spellbinding. That's just me.

And I actually there is a good "moral" to be learned from the movie (but maybe I'm reading too much between the film frames . . .)

And Al Pacino, I think he has aged very well as an actor, he was outstanding in this movie.
