Thanks for the suggestion! I was starting to think I was alone in my appreciation for the film!
Even though I only saw it once or twice in my early-to-mid teens, I can still remember images and sequences...Bogarde playing with the children, the second-oldest girl clearly in ecstacy...the final shot of the film....I agree, Clayton has a real gift with children and serious subjects. A shame we do not have more films from him.
