Home Films/DVD Asylum

Movies from comedy to drama to your favorite Hollyweird Star.

Here we go

The movie has many weaknesses, but it has an undeniable beauty to it as well, something even my wife aknowledged. There are several moments that will brand into your memory, and you will carry them around like a bull. I would not rate extremely hightly the movie as the whole, even though it does have wonderful overall style, but the final duel scene is simply one of the best visual treats in my long memory. The ways it is choreographed, filmed and acted are all superb, and here we see the true potential of Tarantino the Master, something that unfortunately is usually burried under pile of his usual bloody trash. If Pulp Fiction had a few momorable moments, so does this one, except the caliber of those few moments is now higher.

I truly wish the director dropped his silly obsession with being our little Pasolini and just let himself be a wonderful artist that he apparently can be.

Will be renting Vol. 2 soon enough.
