Agree with you on this one; one of my guilty pleasures
I think Kathleen Turner does a great job of playing the teenager too; far better than Cage does as an old guy in this one
"I'm going to England to discover the Beatles" (Yeah, wouldn't we all!)
and she laughs at her Dad for buying an Edsel...

Others films that explore this theme well are Christopher Reeves "Somewhere in Time" and Malcolm McDowell in a version of Jules Vernes "The Time Machine"
