"The Dead" à la rico

It is about two old ladies in Dublin, who use to have a Christmas party with guests, when they all meet together, have some dancing, then one of the old ladies sings a song, they all dine together, and when the party is over, everybody goes home. One of the guests is a drunkard, whose mother is always worried about him. Another one, named Gabriel, who is married to Greta (Angelica Huston) later, when the film is ending, discovers how his wife, when a young maid, had been in love with a boy his name Michael Furi, who died because he insisted in singing an Irish ballad under her window in a cold winter night. Then he (Gabriel) realizes how much he loves her, and starts a nice soliloquy about the falling snow and the dead people.

It was John Huston´s last film, and it is a good one. Not much action, though, while the photography, the acting, and the singing all are good. It is based on a short story by James Joyce.
