There are two versions of this new process, regular Maxivision and Maxivision 48. Both use a much larger portion of the film stock to place the image and Maxivision 48 doubles the film speed through the projector. The company's web site indicates that this, not digital cinema, is the wave of the future. It traces the developments of film processes that were a direct result of competition from other media: sound because of radio, color also because of radio, wide screen and 3D because of television, Dolby and DTS because of videotape. The processes are said to display an incredibly clear picture, "like looking out a window at real life". If you Google "Maxivision" you can get to the web site.
