Difficult to speak about this film as it may be interpreted the very personal way you may appreciate it.
So mine.
It is a profund and voluntary way to provoke, to shake up. LB shows us a world upside down, what is correct in one society may not be in another, so placing us in a relative film inside our own mind order and then inversing the roles.
Absurd. Theater of the absurd.
That is our life he said and the nihilism that result is the same as the two ( how where their names?) men who killed people in the USA without any clue at who and why they shot.
Bunuel film again is prophetic. His shocking of the " Bourgoies" ( we & he ) is a little naive now and less impressive as it may habe been thirty years ago, as our senses and way of thinking may have been in a heavy state of erosion in the mean time...With many films imitating or taking us bejond BunuelÂ´s work.
Again, a must to review it after all this time.
