what's the deal with "eXistenZ"?

I stumbled accross this film on net reviews. Talk about your diametric opinions! I was intrigued by the plot permutations explorered by the Videodrome director, & the cast has an edge to it. Jude Law would make a perfectly convincing two-faced villain. The concept has me intrigued. I usually hate slasher movies but something as intelligent as Videodrome was physological horror classic. However, I can skip a re-worked version. My list of horror faves is short. I liked "the Omen" & "The Legend of Hell House" & "the Exorcist". I hated "Event Horizon" & "Sphere". "Alien" is adequate. Do you think I'd like "eXistenZ"?
