Munich and Walking On Water

71.96.158.35

I saw Munich with wife this last Friday, and Monday night we watched the Israeli film "Walking On Water" (laleket 'al hammayim for the Hebrew inclined).

I originally saw WOW (no pun intended) at the art house theater several months back alone, so this was my second viewing of that film, and with "Munich" freshly on my mind.

I did enjoy Munich, in fact more than most/all the movies I saw this holiday season. Daniel Craig, the "Bond in waiting," was an interesting character on the assassination team.

WOW has some similar themes (how revenge adversely effects the assassin), but is quite different in many respects. (It has previously been discussed in this forum.)

I can't recommend it enough. The characters are better drawn, and their relationships gradually develop over the course of the film (except at the very end due to time constraints).

Leor Ashkenazi is outstanding in WOW. I hope he is able to transcend Israeli cinema and appear in films originating from other countries.
