A very amatuer looking and feeling Chabrol film from '75. But, hot damn, that Romy Sheider is an all-time beauty! She's married to Rod (overacting is the only thing I do well) Steiger who's an impotent, wealthy guy intimidated by her youth and beauty as he himself declines. Enter the young, horny next door neighbor and let the death plots begin!
The last third of the film gets interesting as the story line twists start coming at a pretty fast rate which makes the film worthwile. This film is "ok" and I have yet to see a Chabrol that I find truly interesting or entertaining. Kind of a ho-hum but Scheider shined with her perfect symmetry and wide-set eyes.
