Movies from comedy to drama to your favorite Hollyweird Star.

"The Caine Mutiny" and "The Caine Mutiny Court Martial"

I watched both of these last night. The first is from 1954 and features Humphrey Bogart as the neurotic and paranoid Captain Queeg. He and defense attorney Jose Ferrar are standouts in the cast. Soon to be stars in small roles here include Lee Marvin and E. G. Marshall. A love plot involving Ensign Keith is superfluous and annoying.

The "... Court Martial" was directed for TV by Robert Altman and is an adaptation of Wouk's own stage play which also ran on broadcast TV in the fifties. It is taut and well acted. Both films serve as a wonderful double feature.
