Gregory Peck, David Niven, and Anthony Quinn are among a group of commandos assigned to destroy two German artillery cannons guarding a strait the Britich want to use to rescue a couple of thousand Britich soldiers trapped on a Meditteranean island. Along the way they are helped by Greek partisans and have numerous scirmishes with German forces. I have always been impressed with the quality of the sound here, even on the analog laserdisc (stereo but I play it back in Dolby Pro Logic III Music). The film was nominated for multiple Oscars, and cluding Best Sound.
