Top DVD soundtracks

Without regard for the quality of the movies themselves (although all are just fine) here are my current picks for best DVD sound in a surround sound home theater environment:

1. "Master and Commander" (DTS option)

2. "E.T., The Extraterrestrial" (20th Anniversary John Williams
live option).

3. "Saving Private Ryan" (DTS option).

4. "Apocalypse Now Redux".

5. "The Bridges of Madison County) (Unfortunately only available in so called "full screen" format but the laserdisc Dolby Digital has has even better sound and is letterbioxed).

6. "The Flight of the Phoenix" (remake).

7. "Red Eye"
