Costner Revisited: Attn Steve TAFKA

199.80.70.126

What is it about Costner? Is it that he has NO CHARISMA? IMO, he's too
laid back for swashbuckling roles. Erroll Flynn blew him away in their
respective Robin Hood roles. Deliberately missed "Dancing With The Wolves"; "Field of Dreams" and "Waterworld"; he just does nothing for me.
The only role I thought he played fairly well (of the movies I've seen him
in), was Elliot Ness in "The Untouchables"; and that only because the character was the mechnical, silent type ala Robert Stack.
His acting is similar to Peter Fonda's; Fonda was woefully miscast as the
rebel motorcyle gangleader in "The Wild Angels" circa 1966; too quiet and
laid back to convey an authoritative image required of a leader.
