and haunting.
For those familiar with Tarkovsky, there are recurring images, i.e. multiple images of water (rain, stream, hand-washing), reflections, a horse running around, a de Hooch like inside-outside
perspective, and a playfulness with time.
I especially liked when the wonderfully named Dr. Snaut talked of the importance of the mirror...
Does anyone weave intellectual concerns into his films any better? Tolstoy, Cervantes, Dostoyevsky, assorted classical composers, Dutch painters--- all skillfully woven into the narrative thread.
Awhile back, I recall seeing one of his films somewhere... I think it was called "The Stalker." Anyone seen it?
