"One False Move"

63.26.11.207

Saw this last night on the Bravo channel and loved it. Highly Recommended. I don't know why the paper gives it only 3 stars--compared to what? It was listed as an independent film with Bill Paxton, Cynda Williams, and doesn't even mention Billy Bob Thorston, who co-wrote the script.

Ya, it's your typical cops and robbers film, except the script is intelligent and believeable, the violence nasty yet realistic, the cop cliches typical yet refreshing, the acting and casting excellent, settings and camera work facinating, a great bit of deep blues harmonica soundtrack. The two central characters are well-developed, which makes a nice contrast to the "bad-guys", who are even more chilling by the the "loose cannon" character of Billy Bob and the bone-chilling cold intelligence of his partner (what's his name--he was good!). Lots of predictable situations are turned upside-down. This is a real gem. Well worth your time. Hey--I saw it on my cable service, which is sort of like watching tv thru an aquarium in black and white. If you saw how bad my TV reception is you would appreciate how much I enjoyed this film.
