It's tough being on your own trying to pay your way through college. Lucy knows this better than us and does just about anything to make ends meet including a bit of extracurricular sex work.

One day she answers an advert and goes for an interview at a very luxurious office with a very elegant older woman. There she is told of a job that includes being a server at elegant parties where so of the girls are paid extra for extra duties. Privacy is of utmost importance and carries very, very serious penalties if confidentiality is broken.

Lucy sallies forth into a strange "O"-like world with wealthy older men and many semi-naked younger women. From this world she springboards to a higher level of work which requires her to take a drugged tea and sleep while patrons have their way with her minus penetration.

This is not a film one warms up to as it is cold to the touch and intellect. It is sensuous without a hint of titillation, naked without eroticism, philosophical without thinking. It is a contradiction of terms by being clinical, devoid of rewarding relationships, disappointing of upbeat expectations, and having a somewhat ominous breeze blowing over the top. There is a distinct "O" flavor here that does not allow the eventual pleasure that comes ever so slowly.

You are own your own on this one. I'm not so sure the ledger balances out between the highs and lows of the story.
