I didn't think it was a good idea to delay the introduction of the sleuth until the second episode. It's not clear who we should be following and investing our time in. Also, the show has a join-the-dots feel about it. And it lacks a sense of humor. C'mon, lighten up. A little laughter goes a long way.
Still, it has enough qualities for me to stick with it. Now that we've had Fargo and True Detective in recent times, I tend to judge everything against those two shows. In that respect, Fortitude had better shape up fast.
