Pioneer DV-09 vs. DV-37 for interlaced video & CD playback

Has anyone had experience with both the Pioneer DV-09 & DV-37 players?

I'm mostly interested in standard CD playback and interlaced video performance. I would be playing video through a 27" Sony TV w/ sound through a 2 channel stereo system (old NAD 7225PE receiver, Tannoy M2 speakers).

The models are w/in about $100 of each other on the used market, with the older DV-09 being more expensive.

Has Pioneer given up something in moving to the progressive scan DV-37 or is newer truly better and the market hasn't caught on yet?

thanks
