Ultimate home theater power solution(?)

APC makes a line of UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) called "SmartUPS". These are intended mostly for computers, and have a lot of management features that wouldn't interest the average videophile. However, they have adaptive power filtering, and the output waveform is a true sinewave.

This has several benefits. First of all, if the power goes out (as it did for some of us, in the western suburbs of Boston, during the 2002 Super Bowl), you can turn off your TV and leave your VCR or Tivo on, untill the power is restored. Secondly, I expect the power it generates is cleaner than anything else you're likely to find (in the same price range, at least).

Warning: check the specs!! Some UPS models (such as APC's BackUPS line, which has a THD of up to 15%) use a sine wave approximation, and aren't suitable for some types of power supplies found in consumer electronics (no problem for switched-mode power supplies, like those in computers, though). So, just be sure to look at the specs for the output waveform of a UPS, before you buy!!
