Some questions

As Estes says, there are many ways of doing this and your choice will depend on your front end configuration.

Some questions -

1. Are you using a DVD player for CDs or do you have a separate CD player?

2. Are you using a built in DAC in the CD player or a separate outboard 2 CH DAC?

3. Do you want your HT processor to process music as well as HT?

4. Are you using the receiver for 2 CH music or do you have an independent 2 Ch amp?

The set up can quickly become complex and, if your processor is of good quality, you should not need to worry about bypassing it. Most have a "direct" mode which will work well.
