The problem with those dull silver cabinets is that you can barely notice them when you're watching the TV (black was nearly invisible - what a waste of money). I would like Sony or JVC to come up with a clear cabinet, so they could put all sorts of flashing neon lights, mirrors and strobes inside the cabinet, and around the screen. That way, I could be constantly reminded that I am watching an expensive TV, instead of getting absorbed into the program I am viewing.
But, seriously, my brother will soon be buying his first RPTV. The *only* brand still offering an all-black cabinet besides Pioneer was Mitsubishi, and the Pioneer was out of his price-range. Guess which brand RRTV he is buying?
