If i recall correctly that projo has 8" tubes and would cost about $4000 canadian to retube. New that projo retailed for about $30,000 canadian and was quite good. For a 7 foot screen size, typically, you would set the front of the projo about 9 feet from the screen but check with the owners manual for an exact distance. You can usually be off by plus or minus ten percent and it should still focus fine. I wouldn't recommend a line tripler but a line doubler should work fine as long as it was a high quality one. I can't recall if it can do anamorphic but if it can,then a line doubler is not even required nor desired.
