Need TV advice

We are shopping for a new TV for our new room in the basement. My wife wants a regular old 32". I, of course, want something better. We only have a roof antenna at this point. We will have HT set up based off a B&K AVR202 receiver. I'll probably have my good 2 channel system in there also. We sit about 7 ft from screen and WAF is factor.

I'm wondering what the best way to go is? I was originally thinking of a 34" 16x9 Sony or ??? There is a newer rear projection Samsung 40 or 43" with dfp(?) technology. The other way is the plazma style but things get pricy in a hurry. I think I've seen posts that people like the panasonic? What should I look at & consider? One sales guy said HDTVs are bad with regular analog signals??

We also looking at a small TV to wall mount for excercise area. Best Buy has Sharp & Samsung flat pannels (15 to 18"). Any good?

Where else should I look or perhaps internet sources??

Greatly appreciate any help
