I had a "shelf" made of acrylic to house my large center under the TV, then I padded it with foam not to echo...I didn´t like the sound coming from above the TV, not natural at all, now it "comes" from the TV, also I prefer the TV a little higher, so I can lean against the sofa, put my feet up on the table without interfeering... :)
