Toshiba SD 9200 picture problem

Hi.
I have noticed that on certain movies, the Toshiba SD 9200 picture output is noticebly more rough and has more 'gravely' pictues than when I switch over to the interlaced output.
Any one else have the problem and is there a way to rectify it?
I have Toshiba 42 inch widescreen, monster component cables and, of course, the Toshiba SD 9200 DVD V/A player.
