Sound is spectacular in both DTS and DVD Audio. Picture quality on 53" HDTV Sony is excellent. I had the noisy transport problem, local Toshiba service center fixed it. Works fine. This is a big, heavy, wonderful component. I think the Toshiba is superior to the Philips SACD 1000 in both sound and picture quality. (I have a Philips SACD 1000 as well.) Toshiba has a cool blue power light.
