I also own the Denon DVD-1600 and I'm very pleased with it. I may upgrade to the brand new Denon DVD-2900 which just became available this summer. I'm hoping it has slightly better audio performance than the DVD-1600. Otherwise, I might look into the Marantz DV-8400 which replaces the DV-8300 (that got poor reviews for audio performance).
