Questions on actually both the Sima SED-CD and the Sima SCC video enhancers.
The SED-CD is an automatic ( using digital tech. ) signal enhancer to improve the quality of a video signal esp. when editing to make new copies. It's basically plug and use. The SCC is a more hands on unit that is said to be a pro unit ( I would say semi-pro ) its manual adjustemnts offer the user more control, but is it better?
The SED-CD is about $40 USD the SCC is about $100 USD.
I have hundreds of videos that I would actually like to edit ( OVER TIME!!!) to make copies for better archival and library storaging. Too many of my tapes have a mixture of programmes and I would like to edit them so that I can keep sports tapes together, movies together etc. Also to delete programmes I recorded and really have no intention of watching.
I know hooking two vcrs up will allow you to dub, but the quality of picture in the 2nd gen copy sucks. Has anyone here used these units from SIMA and do they work well enough to make a good copy that is near identical to the original?
